What Is The Difference Between Rfid Printing And Ordinary Printing?

Barcode printers, also known as label printers, can print barcode labels in large quantities and quickly. RFID Printing is based on barcode printers and adds a functional module to integrate RFID readers/encoders into barcode printers. Information is written into RFID barcodes through encoders. RFID Printing can not only print RFID electronic tags, but also ordinary barcode labels.

RFID Printing

RFID labels printed by RFID Printing are more durable and can withstand high temperatures, water, acids and alkalis, etc., and are less affected by harsh environments. The need for barcode alignment reading limits the durability of barcodes and their reusability. Barcodes printed on paper cannot be read in harsh environments.

RFID Printing is displayed differently from ordinary printing. RFID Printing is an electronic version of barcode labels. It works on the principle of radio and obtains the numbering information in the RFID tag chip through the carrier and modulation of electromagnetic waves. Barcode labels are numbered by optical means based on the thickness of the printed bars.

RFID Printing has different reading methods and speeds from ordinary printing. RFID data collectors can read RFID tags quickly and in large quantities; the reading speed can reach up to several hundred tags per second. Reading barcode labels takes time and requires close-range alignment reading. If the object is not facing the reader correctly, it cannot be read. The data collector generally takes half a second or more to successfully read a label.

RFID tags have stronger anti-counterfeiting capabilities than barcode labels. Its unique identifier cannot be copied and has its own number. The content of the label can be read and written repeatedly. The capacity of barcode data storage is small, only a few hundred bytes. Compared with traditional forms of labels, RFID data storage has a large capacity and data can be updated at any time. The content of the barcode label cannot be changed, but it can be copied and reused.
